I found this interesting to see the effort to make sure the stats are right. I remember years ago looking at Gentile's stats and seeing how he fell just short of the RBI lead to Maris.

Diamond Jim got buried behind Gil Hodges in the Brooklyn/LA farm system, or he would have had a more substantial career. I lived in Severna Park , MD during his big years. He had about a four year run in Baltimore in which he was very popular with the fans. Unfortunately, he was largely washed up by age 31
