Yup, and they have a big decision to make with him: keep him behind the plate or switch him to a friendlier position.

That's insane to me. You leave him at C until such time that he proves that he can't catch. That bat makes him a HOF/superstar at C. He might just be an all star at RF.

The Tigers got a top 15 talent, Nick Castellanos, with their sandwich pick. It will be a good draft for them if they can sign him.

The Tribe drafted a big lefty from Ole Miss, Drew Pomeranz. Three good pitches, big strong guy with no health issues and a solid winning performance for a fine college program. He could be with the big club in a couple of years or so. It was a good pick.

Meanwhile, the Pirates threw the second pick in the draft to a high school pitcher. That gives them a roughly one in fourteen chance of having a successful big league pitcher in a few years.

Why do teams do this? The second-best college pitcher has a MUCH better chance of winning in the big leagues than the best high school hurler of the last five years.

Sure - this kid could be the next Clemens or Josh Beckett. Absolutely he could. But the odds are waay against him considering the money they must pony up to even sign him at that level.

Honestly, I was hoping that kid would fall to number 3 for the Os. I think he'll be great for the pirates, and all draft picks are a risk.

And Harper will be fine in Right Field. ESPN will make sure he makes the HOF.
